Hey, I've recently seen your edit about The Happening Thang. Can you please give a link to that email you mentioned as a source? Thank you for making Wikipedia a better place! Opkiller82 (talk) 04:51, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hey there - we're working with Catherine Wearne one of the founding members of the band The Happening Thang who has provided multiple emails to support the changes we're making. If you need to check with her, you can email her at cwearne@iprimus.com.au Not sure if I should link a private email here - could be a privacy issue. Thank you! 2120Music (talk) 05:32, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hey, Thanks for the response, I will be confirming this, hopefully to be forwarded the email, so I can mark it as a reference. Next time whenever replying to something or adding something on a talk page make sure to add four tildes (~). This will automatically show who you are, and the time of your response. Opkiller82 (talk) 05:19, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for this! I'm new and learning something new everyday! 2120Music (talk) 05:33, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

No problem! I was just going to add to my last comment, it is "authorization" instead of "authorisation." Hope this helps with your grammar. (lol). I have also just sent an email address to Catherine in regards to this. When I get a response back, I will be sure to follow up on this. Have a great day! Opkiller82 (talk) 05:38, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hey thank you - we used the Australian spelling of 'authorisation' instead of the US spelling as we are Australian and the band The Happening Thang are Australian so I would assume the page will mostly have Australian viewers who would spell the word with an 's' instead of a 'z' but thank you! The page is in 'Australian English' as well I'm pretty sure. Let me know if there's anything else! 2120Music (talk) 05:39, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Huh, I learn something new every day as well! (lol) I will make a comment on this talk page when I get a response from Catherine. Thanks for teaching me something new! Opkiller82 (talk) 05:51, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Alright! I have recieved the email I will put it into format to cite right now! Opkiller82 (talk) 18:51, 12 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Tamworth Songwriters Association moved to draftspace

Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Hi, I do not have a conflict of interest with The Happening Thang. I am not in any way related to members of the band and have not in any way represented them. I was asked to do the page via a colleague and the information used to update the page was provided directly to me from Catherine Wearne.
In addition, I do not have a conflict of interest regarding the Stuart Coupe page. I am not a family member of Stuart Coupe nor have I ever represented Stuart Coupe in any way. The information provided to update the page came directly from Stuart Coupe and is fully supported by valid, relevant sources.
In updating both pages, I have followed Wiki guidelines. 2120Music (talk) 16:59, 9 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Once again, refer to the guidelines. Consider the phrase above: "if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about" and the bullet point: "avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;" Compare this with your statements "I was asked to do the page via a colleague and the information used to update the page was provided directly to me from Catherine Wearne" (referring to The Happening Thang) and "information provided to update the page came directly from Stuart Coupe" (referring to Stuart Coupe). This shows you do have an external relationship with the subject(s) you write about, hence it is a possible conflict of interest. shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 02:00, 11 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Once again, I do not have a personal relationship with any of the bands/people pages I have edited. I do not represent them in any way but was asked to edit pages just like anyone that works in the music industry like me (including record labels, artist managers, etc) who may be asked to to edit pages from time to time. It is people like me and those working at record labels, artist management ccompanies, etc, that have the correct, fact-based information required to provide evidence-based information. How else would artists and writers such as Stuart Coupe get the information on their pages updated?? 2601:7C0:CC01:6CC0:486C:FFBB:A97:6F7D (talk) 14:22, 11 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
You may not have a personal relationship with the subject(s) but you do have an external relationship: you admitted that you edited articles at the request of a colleague and that you were provided with information/requests to edit the articles by the subject(s).
As a connected contributor you can request edits of those article(s) at their talkpages with a Template:Edit COI rather than edit them directly. Other editors would consider your request(s) and then edit the article if they support them. shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 09:02, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
