Caption= parameter and social media sources edit

Hi. I appreciate your edits to Voyage (ABBA album) generally, but please try to avoid using social media sources per WP:SOCIAL. ABBA's return has been widely covered in the news over the last few days, so we shouldn't need to resort to using social media sources to report anything on it. That being said, album-themed merchandise is not unique to ABBA, and most album articles do not think it rates much of a mention to say "the band released album-themed merchandise". That's probably par for the course, or to be expected.

Regarding the use of the caption= parameter in Template:Infobox album, as the caption entry on the linked template page says, "If the album has been issued with different front covers, which version the image refers to should be noted here." It's not intended to tell readers what the cover art depicts. That should be noted in the prose, or better yet, as a description in alt= for our visually impaired readers. Thanks. September 2021 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Chris McKinstry has been reverted.
Your edit here to Chris McKinstry was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzU-Lze1aRg&t) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. music or video) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to Fritz the Cat (film), please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube or Sci-Hub, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:

  • If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
  • If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;

If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. —Thanks for the fish! talkcontribs 21:56, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

South ParQ Vaccination Special edit

  Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to South ParQ Vaccination Special, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edit had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept material that is not supported by the sources cited in the article. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be supported by the reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources cited in the article, and neither of the two sources you cited make any mention of the speculation you added to the article. If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks.   Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Just a Notion. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it.

  You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on The Chipettes. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

August 2022 edit

  Hello, I'm Wylie39. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Emery Hawkins, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. {{User|wylie39}} {Talk} 01:45, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
