Speedy deletion nomination of Famous military classes in medieval age edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Famous military classes in medieval age requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://listverse.com/2008/10/18/12-most-impressive-medieval-soldiers/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 331dot (talk) 13:33, 9 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Chelas edit

The article Chelas has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject is not notable

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Image captions edit

I noticed that you have been adding images from old text to various India and Hinduism related aticles recently. While these images, in most cases, are welcome additions, please make sure that the caption does not simply replicate the file/image-name but adequately explains what is being depicted. For example, the image added here does not truly show "Aryans entering India", or even a historically accurate reconstruction of the event. It is a rather a "1910 depiction of Aryan's entering India from Huthinson's Story of the nations", and the dating and attribution are necessary since such images are as informative of the knowledge and prejudices of the time they were created, as the time they depict. Can you please enter more informative captions for recent and future image additions? Cheers. Abecedare (talk) 07:02, 22 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi, you left a notice on my talk page that "the book will explain" about the image you had placed at the very top of Ātman (Hinduism). This is exactly why I removed the image from the lead section. When a reader comes to the article and sees an otherwise cryptic image at the top refering to a myth that is in a book and has to read the book to make the connection, this is not helpful. An image at the lead of an article has to be self-evident and helpful to describe the topic. But even if this image is placed in some other part of the article, it still has to be helpful in explaining the (sub)topic of that section, and the caption of the image has to make the connection clear. A caption saying "The final release (Myths of the Hindus and Buddhists)" reads like an incentive for further reading, which is not appropriate, and it does not support something, say a myth, that is included in the article. Phoenicians edit

Because there were no Phoenicians in Britain - they traded with Britain through other people, not by visiting Britain. People used to think they did, but the evidence says otherwise. Dougweller (talk) 10:32, 29 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'm guessing that by 'book' you mean Hutchinson's, which is about a century old and fails [{WP:RS]]. We rely on modern research for this. Dougweller (talk) 12:11, 29 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of List of mythological objects (Hindu Mythology) edit

Hello శ్రీధర్ బబు,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged List of mythological objects (Hindu Mythology) for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ubiquity (talk) 15:40, 2 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Image captions again edit

Can you please review the comment I left a few days back and let me know if you have any objections or questions? Your indiscriminate addition of images from Huthinson's, sometimes replacing better images, and with inscrutable captions is entering disruptive editing territory. Also can you please start using edit-summaries explaining your edits (I'll add a note below explaining how this is done). Abecedare (talk) 19:29, 3 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Edit summaries edit

Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Abecedare (talk) 19:29, 3 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Edit summaries 2 edit

Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! 220 of Borg 09:37, 13 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, Urthva lokas edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Urthva lokas. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Vishnu Purana. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Vishnu Purana – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Bazj (talk) 09:02, 19 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

July 2015 edit

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Urthva lokas. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. Bazj (talk) 09:04, 19 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove speedy deletion notices from pages you created yourself, as you did at Urthva lokas, you may be blocked from editing. Bazj (talk) 09:08, 19 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Warning edit

It is quite obvious that you are Sridhar Babu coming back now and I see that you're continuing the same disruptive behavior again. Since you've had this account for a while, I'm not blocking. However, if you continue the behavior, especially copyright violations and unattributed copy pastes as well as other forms of disruptive editing, you will be blocked. —SpacemanSpiff 07:34, 10 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
