KIIT School of Management (KSOM) established in 1993 is formerly known as Institute of Business Administration and Training (IBAT). The institute spread across 35 acres in the temple city of Bhubaneswar is one of the respected B-schools in Eastern India. It is a part of KIIT University, having 21 years of providing Quality Management Education. The institute strives to give its students a holistic management education, thus empowering them to become committed and competent managers.

Accreditation

The MBA program of KIIT School of Management (KSOM) is approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India. Besides, the MBA program is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) of AICTE. NAAC has rated KSOM A grade.

Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India conferred Category ‘A’ status to KIIT University [1], Bhubaneswar on the basis of Tandon Committee recommendations.

Hostel and Accomodation.

The school has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls with modern amenities and 24 hours internet connectivity conducive to a professional work ambience. KSOM strives to create the best possible living environment for all the boarders to be able to meet their interests and needs - both academic and personal.

The 9,800 sq. ft School’s Library is housed inside the campus that has a rich collection of printed as well as electronic resources that include books, journals, databases, audio-visual materials, CD's, e-journals. The three-storied library is well equipped in terms state of the art computer terminals with high speed broadband Ethernet access coupled with fast wireless access.

Auditorium

The school has an air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 500. In addition, the campus houses an amphitheatre which hosts various academic and extra- curricular activities.

Sports Facility

The school provides excellent sports facilities for games such as cricket, basketball, tennis and baseball. Indoor sports facilities include carom, chess, table tennis and snooker. The campus also houses a fully-equipped gym and a well-kept outdoor swimming pool.

Medical Facility

KIIT has its own ultra-modern multi-specialty thousand-bed hospital - Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences [5], that provides medical checkups to the students every year. The students are covered under the University mediclaim policy.

Courses Offered

Master in Business Administration MBA[6] is the flagship programme of KSOM. The two-year full time residential program offers specialization in Marketing, HR, Finance and Accounting, Information Technology and Operations Management.

Bachelor in Business Administration, BBA[7] is a three-year program. The undergraduate program offer specialization in areas such as Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Information Technology and Banking and Insurance.

Ph.D

Ph.D. Programme [8] in KSOM are offered in several disciplines such Marketing, Finance, Information Technology, Human Resource, and Technology & Operations Management.

Faculty & Research

The school has over 45 full time faculty members with the most coveted qualifications from institutions of global repute such as University of Massachusetts, Wisconsin, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, XLRI, XIMB, IITs. Close to 50% of the faculty hold doctoral degrees with many others pursuing their doctoral studies.

The permanent faculty team is supplemented by several visiting faculties, drawn from both Industry and Academics.

KSOM publishes a bi-annual journal named Parikalpana[9] that include articles submitted by faculty members, research scholars and professionals. The journal offers original and cutting edge directions for creating, grooming, and disseminating the novel thoughts and researches, conducted on business sectors in India and abroad with pragmatic orientation.

Kolosseum is the Annual B School Fest of KSOM. The three-day event consists of various Management, Cultural, Creative games and STAR Night. The event attracts participants from top-ranked B-schools and Technical institutes to take part in an array of exciting competitions.

KCL (KSOM Cricket League)

KSOM students have been organizing their very own version of T20 cricket in the campus. A friendly faculty vs. staff match is followed by the inter-section nail-biting cricket match and amidst loud cheers from audience. Apart from academics the institute gives very high priority to sports and games as well.

In-House[16]Competition is the most celebrated event of the institute. The mega event consists of business, cultural and creative games like business simulation, ad-mad, chess, table tennis, pool, choreography, dance, debate, relay race, poetry, kabaddi, street play, t-shirt paining, mehendi, tug of war etc. Every year KSOM’s In-House witnesses the sharpest and smartest of the teams pitting against each other.

KSOM Students are actively involved in social work like National Service Scheme (NSS) and Blood 24X7, endeavor to serve the people in need through such social outreach initiatives.

The campus magazine Pravah is a wide platform for KSOM students, faculty and alumni to express their creative ideas through a medium. It includes stories, abstractions, photographs, opinion pieces, essays, experiences and many more.
