My Thoughts on AfD's

edit

I don't think anyone should comment to delete an article until the editor reads the article, looks over the references, if they think the article should still be deleted then they should see if they can find anything on the subject. They should then try to view the article from the point of view of where it fits in its category. If it's about something about a topic of a particular country, then view the article through that context. Deletions to me should be of last resort, I try to avoid giving my opinion on topics I have no knowledge on, at least until I read a few things about the article.

Here are some basics about me

edit

My name "Callelinea". I use this name because my father's family home was located on Calle Linea #757, Between Paseo & 2nd, Vedado, Havana, Cuba. I was born in Cuba and came to the United States in 1961 . I am genealogist and historian and mainly deal with things relating to Cuba. I have been traveling to Cuba since 1994 , all with US government permission.

My Views On Cuba

edit

Those are some of my beliefs as to Cuba based on what I have seen, read, known and talked .

  • I believe that the 1940 Constitution of Cuba should be restored.
  • I believe that it is wrong that only one party be allowed to rule Cuba.
  • I believe in free speech, freedom of the press and three branches of the government.
  • I believe no one under the age of 40 should be allowed to rule any country.
  • I believe that it is wrong to only allow exiles one visit every 3 years to visit Cuba.
  • I believe it is wrong to have to ask the Cuban government for visas to visit Cuba if you are Cuban.
  • I believe it is wrong that Cubans be still given residency by the Cuban Adjustment Act.
  • I believe it is wrong to send Cubans back to Cuba without giving them an opportunity to request refugee status with an attorney.
  • I believe that Cubans and Haitians should be treated the same by the US government.
  • I believe that the US government should negotiate with the Cuban government to resolve their differences.
  • I believe that exiles should be allowed to vote in Cuba.
  • I believe that exiles should be given a voice in government of Cuba.
  • I believe that exiles should be compensated for their properties that were taken by the Cuban government.
  • I believe that Cubans should be allowed to study whatever they want to study not what the government wants them to study.
  • I believe the US government does not really care what government Cuba has but wishes to keep it in its present status.
  • I believe that there are some “good” Cubans in the present government of Cuba.
  • I believe that Cubans should be allowed to travel to Cuba without restrictions by either the US or Cuban governments.

My Thoughts on Biographies in Wikipedia

edit

Wikipedia should be inclusive not exclusive. I am a firm believer that most bios should be allowed to remain. All bios need is sources and a minimal standard of notability. The larger Wikipedia is the best of a resource it is. One million articles is much better that one hundred thousand articles. It should be a source of information on the most trivial matters to the most important.
