Richard Head Unsworth, best known as "Grandpa" or "Grandad", is a recurring character on the sitcom Cat on the Roof between seasons 2 and 4. He is the grandfather of the protagonist Griffin Unsworth, and the father of the deuteragonist Tucker Unsworth.
In his prime, Unsworth was a raging writer who exuded his masculinity wherever it could be shown. He was so angry that he alienated his then-wife Esme King—even his own kids would follow suit later.
He died after season 4 and before season 5. By the time of his death, his son Tucker had an estranged relationship with him.
