Red vs. Blue

Errors have been introduced through latest edits.

Heavy rail (red color) means freight rail or commuter rail (Metrolink in our case). Blue color must be used for all other urban lines, including rapid transit (subway or metro, Red and Purple Lines in our case), light-rail, or streetcars.

7th St/Metro Center

7th St/Metro Center Station is a cross-platform interchange but it's now being shown incorrectly after the latest edits.

Actually this was incorrect. Cross platform is defined for platforms on the same level. Changing 7th St/Metro Center back to a regular hub but with correct icons (t for tunnel) and color (blue for metro and light-rail). Esirgen (talk) 08:09, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Complexity

Compared to maps on the other metro line pages... this one is way too complex. It feels like overkill to show every single crossing along the line. If there are no objections... I say that we show only major crossings (freeways, tunnels and elevated sections.) Thoughts? RickyCourtney (talk) 20:31, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

Welp, it's time that the detailed maps are preserved for their own pages or simply separated into the route description categories of their respective route pages. Especially the A Line since it's massive length will definitely override its page. Lars Smiley (talk) 04:45, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

If you look at the other LACMTA Rail lines, they all have different degrees of complexity in their route maps. For example, the Gold Line is almost equally complex as the Expo Line, but the Red Line is minimally complex. Right now, it's complete and accurate, and there is no need to truncate it randomly. It doesn't show all crossings -- it only shows grade-separated and gated crossings. Keep the route map as it is -- it's a good reference and doesn't hurt anything. Don't delete valuable information and make the map incomplete. They can add the gated crossings to the Blue and Gold Lines if they want. Esirgen (talk) 08:14, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

I disagree. The line maps for the gold, green and blue lines only show major crossings (freeways and rivers). That's on par with what is being done on the majority of Wikipedia on light rail lines.
