I think that the photo risks giving a confusing impression that it is an actual picture of the dog or breed of dog in the subject matter of articles which are tagged with this template. I am going to remove it for the time being, and would suggest replacing it with something like a clip-art icon if a suitably licensed one is available. Could we have another discussion about images. I'll be blunt: I don't like the image that was recently put on this. With the image as small as it is you can't even tell what it is. the old clipart image was far better. If no one objects, I'd like to put the clipart back in, find a different image or have no image. --Pharaoh Hound(talk)15:10, 11 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I beg to differ. The picture (at the size) is neither clear nor attractive (and yes, my eyes work fine). The dog blends into the background, and showing a dog from a side-view would be much more clear. Almost all the other animal stub templates ( see here for list) have better illustrations or photos (cats, molluscs, dragonflies, parrots, amphibians and dinosaurs to name a few). --Pharaoh Hound(talk)23:49, 11 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
