Sanjay Gupta (business executive)

  • ... that Sanjay Gupta, the country manager of Google India, studied mechanical engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering? Source: "Gupta pursued Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering (now known as Delhi Technological University)" [1]

  • The currently proposed hook is not interesting to non-Indians, so I would suggest proposing other hooks. How about, for example, mentioning about his work in cricket television prior to working with Google? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:55, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
  • ALT1: ... that Sanjay Gupta has been credited for expanding Star India's sports business by launching Pro Kabaddi League and Indian Super League? Source: "He has been credited for the making Star's content available digitally through Hotstar, and for expanding its sports business by acquiring prime cricketing properties and launching Pro Kabaddi League and Indian Super League." [2] Bharatiya29 14:32, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
It sounds better, but might be a bit niche. I was thinking that perhaps there could be a mention of his Google tenure there, something like "that prior to becoming Google's India country manager, Sanjay Gupta..." Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:38, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
ALT2: ... that prior to becoming Google India's country manager, Sanjay Gupta was credited for expanding Star India's sports business by launching Pro Kabaddi League and Indian Super League?
ALT2 does look more interesting for the general audience, but I am not sure if the two points are related to each other. Bharatiya29 14:55, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
They don't really need to, what's important is highlighting important aspects of Gupta's life and career that could catch the attention of even non-Indian readers. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 09:35, 31 January 2020 (UTC)
  • Article was new enough, long enough, and adequately sourced. ALT2 is cited inline and verified; looking through the source, it also mentions that he used to work for Disney, so a possible alternate hook could be proposed based on that. Earwigs is down right now so I am currently unable to check for close paraphrasing. QPQ has been done. Is there no known information about his personal life? This will be good to go once that question is answered. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:48, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
I couldn't find any information about his personal life online. Bharatiya29 19:12, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
  • Noted. Earwigs is running properly again and no close paraphrasing was found. Should be good to go now. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 06:39, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
