What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

misleading lead

edit

I proceeded to rephrase the lead that led the idea he watched hidden sex camera/rape videos by using the most vague phrasing possible. I am no expert in this story, I discovered it only recently, but according to the sources I read in the article he had only received that one video that involved a consensual touching in a bar and was not part of the various group chats, let alone the burning sun. Refering directly to what he received and watched seems like a mandatory option to avoid being vague and linking to other bigger scandals he was not part of, knowing that most wikipedia readers only read the first part of an article.

I am also noticing that in the "career hiatus" section it is said he had received "illegally filmed video". Is that another video or the same one of Jung consensually touching a woman in a bar? English source is completelly vague on the subject. If that is indeed the only video it should be fixed as well. Cinemaandpolitics (talk) 22:13, 27 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

I fixed it and made it clear the two instances he was part of. Pretty disturbing to see how these edits, which stayed on wikipedia for all these years, gave out to international readers the idea that he was part of the group chats where rape videos were being shared. I also blame the source billboard which uses very vague phrasing, as if it was proven that he was aware about all of Jung actions, which there is no proof he was, while Soompi had a good and clean translation of his full instagram post. I've noticed that the exact same issue is present on the lead of the kakaotalk scandal. After highlighting that some members of the group chatroom have been convicted of rape Yong name is dropped on the vague reference of "watching an illegal video", as if he had view those rape videos himself. This points out to a broader POV problem which is borderline libellous. Cinemaandpolitics (talk) 09:38, 28 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
