Reducing the size of Further reading section edit

I propose that all but the books subsection be removed or drastically pared down. The current list is dwarfing the article itself. Could someone with more knowledge about which few of these theses and articles might be worth keeping. Barring other comments, I think the most or all of that material should be removed and/or moved to this or an archive page. --Dfred (talk) 00:00, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Moving it here would make it an invaluable resource for anyone wanting to expand the article. Sabine's Sunbird talk 01:20, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it is useful info. (BTW, I fixed the inappropriately flippant original header I chose for this discussion.) --Dfred (talk) 14:25, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Confusion edit

The article states : "The call of the White-crowned Sparrow has many dialects, but the pugetensis subspecies sounds similar to "You can't come and catch me!" "

This isn't very clear. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.20.107.103 (talk) 15:57, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Inaccurate? edit

The claim that "[t]he call of the White-crowned Sparrow has many dialects, but the pugetensis subspecies sounds similar to "You can't come and catch me" is clear, but seems dubious. Googling for it reveals only a few very scattered hits, and usually ones that quote directly from this article itself - no other sources can be found. See, for example, here: here.

Sorry, I'm French and do not practice English well enough to integrate the content of this article in English article about White-crowned sparrow , but I think it's interesting. So I invite you to read (and use) : Laurance W.F (2015) Wildlife struggle in an increasingly noisy world ; Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 2015 112 (39) 11995-11996.
