Talk:Wells Spicer

First crack edit

This is my first full article for Wikipedia, so I welcome all input (preferably constructive). I borrowed heavily from Lynn Bailey's biography as it is the most complete piece on Spicer.

This obviously could use some cleanup, which I'll endeavor to do over the next few days. Also, I wasn't able to clear up the link to Corinne, UT. Maybe someone smarter than I could give it a try.

I purposely didn't go into the backgrounds of Mountain Meadows or the O.K. Corral incident because those events are well-documented in their respective Wiki pages, and instead concentrated on Spicer's involvement. Similarly, I just touched upon the Earp/Holliday preliminary hearing as I think it merits it's own Wikipedia page.

My guess is that the son's name is Ernest (the name) not earnest (the adjective or noun). DHR (talk) 04:28, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lynn Bailey got the spelling from the 1870 Utah census, but acknowledges that "Ernest" appears in other sources. She used "Earnest" in her book, however. Kkbay (talk) 17:22, 28 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
