Wikipedia:RS#Self-published and questionable sources states that experts who have been previously published by reliable third-party publications can be acceptable. Under that criteria, I have used Meet the Mascots: Waldi (Munich 1972), as the writer, Kyle Whelliston, has previously been published on EPSN.com and in the Basketball Times and also has a lifetime membership to the International Society of Olympic Historians.
