The station signed on as WFAM-TV, and held that callsign in 1958. The station had changed callsigns to its current WLFI-TV by the late seventies, and the FCC database does not show when the switch occured. (Potentially, any time between 1958 and 1979.) --AlexDW 16:36, 18 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

This article states: "Even after Lafayette area residents became able to receive stations out of Indianapolis via cable television beginning in the 1970s..." Before there was cable in the area, it was easily possible to receive NBC (then channel 6) and ABC (then channel 13) from Indianapolis via a rooftop TV antenna. With good atmospheric conditions and a bit of luck, one could also pull in Channel 8 (CBS) and Channel 4 (independent), although reception was usually poor - I can even remember getting the UHF channel 15 from Champaign and channel 8 (WOOD TV from Grand Rapids) on occasion. With cable in the 70s, all Indianapolis channels (including 4, 8, and 20) could be received, as well as some Chicago stations (channels 9 and 11), etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.158.48.162 (talk) 14:18, 4 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
