- AFAIK there is only the vertical format, but it can also be used on east-west lines. See Great Western Main Line, for an example. —Jeremy (talk) 19:36, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the feedback. The main reason that I haven't just been bold and added this to the article is that I can't find a way for it to fit nicely—in particular it clashes badly with {{Metra Line Index}}. Is there somewhere for wider discussion on the format of Metra line articles? If it were seen as desirable to use the route diagram in all of the articles on Metra lines then we could alter the 'line index' template so that the two would play nicely with each other. —Jeremy (talk) 02:17, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, I really don't know what I'm doing with it, but it seems like you might be able to put an "align left" into it, put it into the text of the article, and wouldn't have to worry about how it meshes with the Chicago Commuter Lines infobox. I also was able to use the "Metra colors" from that infobox to bring continuity to the route diagram template. But I really don't know what I'm doing, so I don't know if it'll work as I've described. New Problem edit
I'll say this; the existing route line map needs a correction. Instead of linking to Lake Forest (Metra) station, it should link to Lake Forest (Metra Union Pacific/North) station. Somebody told me how to correct mistakes like this on the BNSF Railway Line talk page, but I forgot what they told me to do. ----DanTD (talk) 04:51, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Old names edit
I want to make sure I've got this right. The physical infrastructure of this route was known as the Old Line Subdivision under CNW ownership in the 1960s.[1] It was later called the Kenosha Subdivision under both the CNW and later the Union Pacific.[2][3] Per this forum discussion (not suitable as a reference), CNW-operated suburban services over this route were at least at one time referred to as "Milwaukee Division Suburban", but this term never applied to the infrastructure itself? Station list (counties) edit
I added a column to the station list showing what counties each station is in. If a higher-up could give feedback before I consider doing this to the other ten lines, I would appreciate it. The following would be more readable if made into a table:
35 trains in each direction on weekdays. Of these, six inbound trains originate from Kenosha, 17 from Waukegan, six from Highland Park, and six from Winnetka. Seven outbound trains terminate at Winnetka, five at Highland Park, 17 at Waukegan, and six at Kenosha.
13 trains operate in each direction on Saturdays. Of these, five inbound trains originate from Kenosha and eight from Waukegan. Six outbound trains terminate at Waukegan and seven at Kenosha.
Nine trains operate in each direction on Sundays. Of these, three inbound trains originate from Kenosha and six from Waukegan. Six outbound trains terminate at Waukegan and three at Kenosha.
Platform 1, Platform 2 edit
