Nickname
editThe USS Schofield had a nickname used by her crew; the Scuzzy Scho. The ship had a bad habit of catching fire down in the boiler room, causing some exciting moments and fun for all. Obbop (talk) 15:03, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
Cambodia
edit"We were in Subic Bay when the Mayaguez incident happened in Cambodia"
Why was this written? The Schofield was to the north of the Mayaguez Incident action acting as a blocking force in case reinforcements were sent from Camobodia!!! Doc Benham, our hospital corpsman, who was heloed down to assist with the wounded, would have to emphatically disagree with someone whose memory is far from correct. If the ship's logs were readily available it would be easy to prove the Schofield's presence in the area.72.198.206.139 05:30, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
The USS Schofield's first home port was NavBase Long Beach where it left from on its first west pac. The first night that it left for the cruise it had a major engineering problem wereas it returned to Long Beach for repairs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.116.48.17 (talk) 23:54, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
