Talk:Twenty-five (card game)

Twenty Five edit

In the West of Ireland the card game Twenty Five was very popular. Each trick scored Five, and the first person to score Twenty Five won the game. Hence the name, Twenty Five. This would usually take more than one round, although it is possible to win all five tricks in the first round. 80.4.67.116 (talk) 10:57, 11 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

This is the version I play. You need to win five tricks in order to win a game. 77.95.167.233 (talk) 00:52, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not “the” national card game of Ireland edit

I’m Irish. I grew up there. I never played twenty fives or heard of it. We played forty five (not forty fives). Essentially the same as what is described here for twenty fives, some elements of 45. I don’t know who thought it is okay to make the assertion that this is THE national game of Ireland. Rickogorman (talk) 22:04, 6 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I would concur that 25 is the Irish National Card game. There are variations on the game which I have played also. Because you’ve never heard of it, it is very arrogant of you to be so dismissive of it’s existence and it’s right to have honour of being our national card game. And I’m Irish too. 77.95.167.233 (talk) 00:50, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
