Talk:Tui Ātua Tupua Tamasese Efi

Numbering edit

Isn't he technically the third O le Ao o le Malo, not the second? When the state became independent, there were actually two joint heads of state -- Tupua Tamasese Mea'ole, who lived for only a year, and Malietoa Tanumafili II, who just recently died. --Jfruh (talk) 13:27, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Technically Tupua Tamasese Mea'ole and Malietoa Tanumafili II were 1st=, as they were both heads of state at once, which is why Tupua Tamasese is 2nd --Lholden 22:34, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Correct Title for The Head of State edit

Hi. I just have one question about the Tupua's correct title. Numerous news articles that I have read refer to him as "Tuiatua", such as Tuiatua Tupua Tamasese Efi [1][2]. Could some please explain this title to me, what it means and how it should be used to address Tupua Tamasese Efi. Thanks again. Your help and advice is really appreciated.Scanlan 14:42, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Page Move edit

To Tupuola Tufuga Efi, the other two names are titles. Therequiembellishere 10:36, 7 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Introduction edit

I've removed this:
"(The senior line of the Tui Atua Fa'anofonofo originates from Leifi and the current titleholder of the Tui Atua Fa'anofonofo is Fuataga Kasimani Lautusi , O le Ao o Atua - the Head of Atua)."
as it seems to be about someone else entirely. Moonraker12 (talk) 13:16, 6 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

PS The italics and redlink are mine; I was trying to make sense of the names. Does anyone else find them confusing? Some appear to be given names, and some titles; is there an explanatory note anywhere? Moonraker12 (talk) 13:19, 6 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect Name and Title edit

Hi. The name Tufuga Efi has not been in popular use since the late 1970s. His Highness is widely known as Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi. A google search will prove this to be so as well as any Samoan you speak to. I suggest Wikipedia make it easier for people who know of this subject matter i.e. Samoans to make the necessary corrections, lest Wikipedia be seen as culturall incompetent. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vaafusuaga Samalaulu Fonoti (talkcontribs) 00:08, 18 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
