I am not a Wiki editor - I do not have time. I was part of the team that re-excavated this in c. 2006 or 7, with the local archaeological firm AOC, which are based on Loanhead. If you contacted them or the city archaeologist John Lawson, they would be able to point you to the excavation reports.

Standing empty? edit

Hello, the lead of this article says that Tron Kirk now stands empty and is closed to the public. However, I learned otherwise when I was in Edinburgh this fall. Apparently, it is occasionally used as a public gathering place and music venue for various local events, including the Jazz Festival, La Favorita Freestival, and the Edinburgh Festival, which was captured by User:Brian McNeil in his Wikinews article about the 2014 Fringe Festival. According to The Edinburgh Evening News, other public uses, such as a market, are also planned. I was wondering about adding this image of the front door, which depicts one such present day use case, but wanted to make sure that I had my facts right first. Thanks for your help. • The Tron has now been part of the Free Fringe for the past three years. I was told (not got a usable cite) that the next use will be as a gallery. For much of the year it is closed to the public; although, that is similarly challenging to reliably cite. --Brian McNeil /talk 23:27, 17 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
