Page name

This page should be moved to the correct spelling of the artist's name, Tone Lōc (with macron on "o" of "Loc"), as it appears on all his releases. Badagnani 21:40, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

Questionable

Why not just say that his likeness was in the video? Nothing else here is substantiated: "Tone Loc was widely regarded as an original renegade in regards to political and cultural strides his music made for the African American community. This is acknowledged by many, but most notably by the appearance of his likeness in the film clip for the song "Renegades Of Funk" by Rage Against the Machine. "

Also i heard young mc wrote his wraps. anyone know of a connection between them? 219.73.42.82 10:17, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Young MC co-wrote two of Tone Loc's bigest hits, "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina" Anson2995 16:49, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

The 'Trivia' Section

Why does this information have to be moved into the main article? I thought trivia was just that... trivia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Troobador (talkcontribs) 22:28, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

The 'Trivia' Section Update

I updated the trivia section with two new entries. One of them corrected where he got his name from. The other refers to the cover of his debut album. 204.155.16.95 (talk) 15:57, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Tone Loc's Name

Tone Loc's birth name is Anthony Terrell Smith, so I changed the previously written "Roger Meade Clyne", because this name belongs to another person, not to this artist. 79.41.142.88 (talk) 18:22, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Does anyone know how Tone Lōc's name is pronounced? 74.128.56.194 (talk) 16:50, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Yes, most people do since it was mentioned on the radio all the time.Bofum (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 19:20, 12 May 2011 (UTC).

Tone's Voice

I don't normally edit wikipedia so I won't mess with the page. I would just like to see some mention of his voice being very low. Its essentially what he is known for. I think it would be appropriate to put it into the section on how he got his name as it clearly references the low "tone" of his voice. -Guy From STLouis —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.91.185.56 (talk) 20:53, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Cartoon Network

Is he the current voice over guy fot the resent commercial bumpers on Cartoon Network? Sarujo (talk) 05:57, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Is ancestry.com acceptable as a source?

This person's supposed date of birth has been changed numerous times over the course of recent months. I now see that ancestry.com is being cited as a source for Tone Loc's DOB. I'm not very comfortable with this, especially the manner in which it is cited. Is this permissible? JBsupreme (talk) 23:52, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Tone LōcTone Loc – The use of the macron (¯) in the article title struck me as unnecessary. Researching the matter, Tone Loc's official website here does not use the macron, nor is it seen in Google Books or Google News. I suggest to move to Tone Loc and to fix all instances of macron use as unnecessary and misleading. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 19:45, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

  • Support None of the news articles about him use the punctuation, clearly Tone Loc is the WP:COMMONNAME.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 06:26, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
  • Support. The ¯ macron is clearly a stylisation and should not be included in the article's title. Also WP:TITLESPECIALCHARACTERS states that symbols should be avoided. Lazz_R 22:52, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
