Can we please ensure that tenses for plot summaries are consistent? I think present tense, when appropriate, is usually considered correct for relating fictional events. Thanks. Gloriana232 13:36, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Socialist?

Although it mentions his populism in the wiki file, do you think that the 'socialist' designation would be appropriate? For evidence I would point to his fight against exploitation on his home planet, but specifically this quote in the first season episode 'Colonial Day':

"If things weren't so serious, I'd say that was funny. Look, there's no economy. There's no market, no industry, no capital. Money is worthless. And yet, we're all held hostage by the idea of the way things used to be. Look where we are. This man wakes up every morning, tugs o­n his boots and goes to work in this garden. does this make sense?

Later in the series, Zarek runs for political office, and is elected representative for Sagittaron on the new Quorum of Twelve (the upper house of the legislative branch of the government, and the only one expedient to use under the circumstances).
