Proposed merge with Godshow

edit

This play did not receive significant coverage in multiple, reliable, independent sources. It would be sufficient to cover the play summary style in its parent article until the content warrants a split. czar 05:57, 28 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

This page appears to be an autobiography, and if it weren't for the Godshow claim it'd be an easy delete as none of the other claims appear to pass the notability bars of WP:ANYBIO or WP:CREATIVE ("most recognizable" for a role that is not even mentioned in the article??). Support a Merge/Redirect, though centralising at Godshow (and damn the COATRACK) would end up with a better article as it would be easier to keep focus on key biographical info, but not minor roles. I'd say that Godshow could be a weak keep due to the four year run and two Chicago Reader's Critic's Picks, despite no apparent coverage outside of Chicago. ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 13:04, 28 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'd want to see some evidence for those unsourced claims ("sold out its four runs at The Second City Chicago", "was the Chicago Reader Critic's Pick twice") before passing judgement on their import, personally. czar 13:48, 28 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Some sourcing/ce performed. Not saying it's a good keep (and I don't promise to edit it much more =), but there's enough evidence of signficant coverage including a couple of sources which aren't freely visible online. There was almost certainly a Sun-Times review as well, but the only evidence of that is the play's appearance in their top 10. ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 10:07, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
From what I can see, the show's coverage looks to be all (1) local or (2) minor. Since the show is autobiographical, I don't think it would be a coatrack to have the bulk of the actor's article be about the show, since that would be proportionate to the coverage. czar 02:24, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Czar: Risks with a merge here include a higher likelihood that monitoring and re-editing will be required, and a much higher likelihood of the bio being taken to AFD. While coverage of Godshow was (with what's visible) local, the CMA is a sizable pool. In the interests of moving forward, let me phrase my !vote as as Support a Merge (preference to Godshow). If you still feel that a merge here is best, then go for it (inasmuch as two commentators are quorum).~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 09:16, 6 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
