Multiple Issues edit

Article has multiple issues.

  • There are no references or sources cited, despite being tagged for this since March 2012. Given the claims therein involving prominent media figures, it is important that solid citations should be added as soon as possible.
  • The article is not written in a remotely encyclopaedic style, appearing more like an editorial, to the extent that the penultimate paragraph actually thanks the staff and supporters of the newspaper, suggesting that the article is either C&P'ed from elsewhere, which could be a copyright violation, or has been written by somebody who works on the newspaper, which would be a clear conflict of interest.
  • There is much extraneous material regarding black culture as a whole, which is irrelevant to the subject of the article.
  • Certain basic information is missing - as an article covering a newspaper, the absence of circulation figures, something that should be readily available for any prominent publication, is striking.
  • The article is also mostly non-wikified, with many links to other Wikipedia articles being missing.

It is important that these issues should be addressed as soon as possible. Otherwise all unsubstantiated claims will have to be removed. An editor with decent familiarity with the subject matter should get onto this soonish... --Tailkinker (talk) 20:51, 17 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

    • I took it upon myself to seek circulation figures for this publication and discovered there simply were none, searching back to 2000 on both the Google and Bing Search Engines. Nor could I find any information on the actual website for "The Voice", in neither "About Us" or "Advertise With Us" sections, traditionally a place circulation would be listed. ABC Audit, a group that monitors circulation figures for "all relevant UK publications" no longer reports on "The Voice". OneHappyHusky (talk) 22:00, 17 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Black Lesbians and Gays Against Media Homophobia campaign edit

There is no mention of the campaign against "The Voice" newspaper where a group of black lesbians and gays brought the Newspaper to heel. Brought the newspaper management to the negotiating table, and negotiated a Right of Reply and forced them to adopt an Equal Opportunity Policy, and improved reporting on lesbian and gay issues. Proposed Deletion of Category: Black British writers edit

Editors' interested in 'The Voice' may also be interested in the proposed deletion of Category: Black British writers (which includes C.L.R. James among others). The deletion page is here. Ackees (talk) 16:39, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Question about frequency of publication edit

In the opening section, the text says that the paper is published weekly, every Thursday. However, under the heading “Type and circulation” it is said to be now published monthly. I presume that monthly is correct, but the two texts ought to agree with each other (as well as being right). Ondewelle (talk) 05:46, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
