Yes, there is a close connection as per WP guidelines; however, the original author is a journalist with over eight years experience (i.e. dealing with bias and committing active disclosure). And even that appeal aside, and that the article had to start somewhere, it is represents fairly content found in other WP articles about similar student newspapers. More so, on balance, for its size and content, the article is referenced as well as possible -- especially vis-a-vis other student, post-secondary newspaper WP articles. Further references will be added.
