Talk:The Housekeeper and the Professor

article name should be the title of the English translation of the novel, not a translation of the Japanese title of the novel edit

The current title of this article is The Professor's Beloved Equation. However, the novel is known in both the UK and the US as The Housekeeper and the Professor [1][2][3][4][5]. Therefore I am going to do a page move to The Housekeeper and the Professor in accordance with Wikipedia:Naming conventions (books)#Title translations. I would note however that Google Books also has a listing for this novel as The doctor's equation[6] but that looks like it might be a translation into Chinese, not English. As for the film, IMDb gives The Professor and His Beloved Equation as the English title (not The Professor's Beloved Equation as Wikipedia has it). But IMDb is not always a reliable source for that kind of thing. Mathew5000 (talk) 01:18, 14 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Math terms edit

The equation referenced in the book is actually Euler's Identity, not Euler's Formula. Zonkerette (talk) 15:28, 5 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
