This phrase is currently in the lead, but it has a clarification tag. I agree with the tagger that this is jargon, but what's a better alternative? It could have a parenthetical explanation, such as "(this refers to products made from plants that have similar culinary features as animal-based products)," but that seems cumbersome. It could also say instead "plant-based meat, dairy, and egg alternatives," but the origin-definition is not the one organizations like GFI are using when they say this. There's unfortunately not a dictionary definition of "plant-based meat" that we can default to. I mildly favor the parenthetical solution, but I'm not really sure. Yeah! What is called 'meat' is made from plants. However, we are NOT (going to be jesting about) making this 'meat' in plants (as an 'industrialized' product). MaynardClark (talk) 23:02, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
