Expansion and Rewrite edit

Since my publication of this article, it seems that there has been a lot of edits to this article that add unsourced information and personal opinions to it. This is unfortunate as I was hoping people would want to give this article proper attention, adding information from reliable sources and expanding it to its fullest ability. However, due to the vandalism of this article, it needs to be rewritten so that it fits with Wikipiedia's guidelines and standards of a well developed and properly sourced article. There is information missing on the film's theatrical and home media release that needs to be added to the article with proper citations from reliable sources, and the production section can be expanded a bit more. If these issues are fixed properly this article has a chance of fulfilling its full potential.--Paleface Jack 16:51, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

Merger Discussion edit

After several years after I created this article, I discovered the article on Attack of the Mayan Mummy. Unfortunately, that film is, in fact a re-edited and dubbed version Aztec Mummy. So I'm thinking that it should be merged with this article as a result. A major reasoning behind this decision is that not only is it for the above mentioned reasons but that there isn't enough shown here that gives any reason why it should remain a separate article. It should be merged into this article as a section like what I did with the parodies and short film sequels of The Hideous Sun Demon in the article of the same name. Again this is only a though but I think it seems more logical to have it that way rather than have it as its own article.--Paleface Jack 15:52, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

I think they should be kept as 2 different films. Not only are they in two different languages, but they only share a certain number of scenes, and the 2 films are sold on dvd as two entirely different movies. Mayan Mummy has a lot of added scenes that are not in Aztec Mummy at all. Plus the 2 films have entirely different casts and credits. Putting it all on one page would be very confusing.68.129.15.71 (talk) 22:13, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Maybe, that could easily be explained and in the prose and they have the same production information. One is just an edited version. Several films have are like this (like some of the early Ishiro Honda films). Unless there a lot of specific information, I don't see much point in two unique articles. Its not like this is the American Godzilla and the Japanese one where there is enough different info out there. Andrzejbanas (talk) 22:15, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
They are two different films; that should be the deciding factor. There are also some substantial plot changes in Warren's recut, such as the death of the *hero* of the original (Ramon Gay) at the hands of the mummy as he tries to escape from the tomb, and the death of the mummy at the hands of a thief whose car crashes into it! Hardly "the same film". Have you actually ever seen either of the two? --H

Since AMM is a reedited version of The Aztec Mummy it seems unfair to have it as its own article unless it's either as a sub-section here or included in a separate article about the Aztec Mummy series.--Paleface Jack (talk) 16:54, 14 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
