Magic Pipe edit

more info on the magic pipe is needed, I think. I have no idea what that thing is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.177.235.0 (talk) 18:53, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

This info can be derived from several press articles or from German wikipedia.----Happy new Headcheese!-hexaChord2 09:31, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'll take a look at those links with a translator soon, I'll ask you for details if they don't make sense via site translator. Also: does anyone have any sort of details on the theft and recovery/rebuilding of the magic pipe? I've only seen it talked about via messageboards and the like, but the rumor is that Mike's gear was all stolen recently and had to be replaced... it's a common pitfall for musicians, but due to the nature of his instruments I think it would be notable for the entry. ---D--- (talk) 10:49, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

You don't have to use the German article since it's all made out of a few English sources:
As I said before, we could make it an official collab article for WP:BH, but if you wanna start right now, go for it! --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 14:35, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Looking over those sources, I'm pretty sure I can at least triple the length of the article with good, sourced information. I've started rewriting the page, including a section on the Magic Pipe, we'll see how it goes. If anyone adds anything in the meantime, I'll try and incorporate it into my new version. ---D--- (talk) 22:52, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Do you wanna use the taskforce's space (maybe here), to get others involved?--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 23:20, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's hardly an A-class article, but I'd like to think that this is an improvement. What do you think Hexa? ---D--- (talk) 00:43, 17 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's a big improvement, yes. I just had a read but won't change anything for now, cause it's 2am in Germany and I gotta go to bed. I will go through it again tomorrow. ;-) --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 01:06, 17 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Have a look on this: The pipes themselves are used to percussive ends while That 1 Guy slaps, plucks, or bows the strings, as well as occasionally utilizing a drum stick to sound the strings and the pipes at the same time. Doesn't sound too good to me. The pipes themselves are used to... Hmm, used to? What's this? --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 23:16, 18 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think you're just phrasing it oddly in your head. The key word you're overlooking is "ends", the pipes are "used to" accomplish an "end", which are the percussive elements he utilizes them for. I'll just change it, but the language is correct. ---D--- (talk) 01:16, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Maybe I just don't know this phrase, but I think it's better now. Well, at least understand I it. *lol* Should I go for a Buckethead Taskforce on "Simple English"? ;-) --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 01:29, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hahahah, I'll try and keep simple English in mind, but I just don't want to go too simple! Yeah, the phrase is pretty simple, but that's coming from a native speaker. What it basically said was that the pipes were used to an "end", which is to say that they were used to achieve a specific result, and the addition of "percussive" to the sentence tells us what the "ends" were. Hope that makes sense in case you run into similar wording elsewhere! ---D--- (talk) 01:51, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
