Though not usable in Wikipedia, as it's original research WP:OR, according to FreeBMD, the only Edward Slevin born in the rugby league playing areas of Cheshire, Cumberland, Lancashire, East Riding of Yorkshire, North Riding of Yorkshire, and West Riding of Yorkshire from 1922 to 1933, i.e. a period commensurate with a 1948-62 playing era is Edward Slevin (mother's maiden surname Lawton) birth registered July→September 1927 in Doncaster district. There is another Slevin whose forename is John, also with a mother's maiden surname of Lawton, whose birth registered July→September 1922 in rugby league hotbed of Prescot district, could they be brothers? Though not usable in Wikipedia, as it's original research WP:OR, I have messaged Ted Slevin's son; Jeffrey Slevin, and he has confirmed that Ted Slevin was born in 1927 near Doncaster, and that Ted Slevin had an older brother named Jack, i.e. John.
