Linking nationality edit

The article now links his Czech nationality to Czech Republic, which didn't exist until about 50 years after his death. That seems wrong to me. -- Jmabel | Talk 05:51, August 20, 2005 (UTC)

AGREED, I have attempted to clarify this --- please read the first sentence and see if you think it is more correct. The problem seems to be that hundreds of editors seem to be having an argument over all sorts of political "stuff" relating to the prior history of this nation. I prefer to avoid this shooting match, so hopefully my modification here conveys where this artist was born without getting involved in what is was called then. This link to Czech Republic needs clarified and decided upon... but to do so requires concensus above my pay grade.. It mentions the nation formed in 1918, but not the name of the nation (Bohemia??) before then when Simon was born.Printguy 04:27, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Restrikes edit

Please list sources regarding possible recent restrikes. I can locate no other discussions regarding modern editions of the atrists New York prints, though there do seem to be places in Prague selling various recently restruck smaller etchings and woodcuts. Printguy 16:41, 17 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

TFSimon.com edit

I have for at least the second time restored indication that this is a commercial site. If someone -- I presume related to the site -- keeps removing this without (unlikely) consensus on talk page, I will regrettably have to remove it entirely. - Jmabel | Talk 03:02, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Are you sure that www.TFSimon.com is a commercial site? It seems to be the only plaace to locate photographs of the prints as well as a listing of the full catalog raisonne published by Novak as well as the later works of Simon after Novak published the partial catalog raisonne. This link would seem to be very valuable to those interested in Tavik Simon.Printguy 04:31, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree that it is useful — that's why I didn't remove it — but it is obviously commercial (it has prints for sale) and we should always clarify that in a link: that is very different from (say) an academic site about an artist. - Jmabel | Talk 04:47, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
It looks like the vending links are now gone from the site. - Jmabel | Talk 04:55, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
