Talk:Tag management system

point of view? edit

This article reads like a sales brochure. The Functionality section would be nice if it had better detail. Lots of fancy terms in there, without any explanation or links to what they mean. Instead all the detail goes into the Benefits section. Because what could be more beneficial than something that tracks you without you even know it is there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WAR-Ink (talkcontribs) 17:25, 27 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Not only does it read like a sales brochure, there is no discussion of what the tags mean for privacy, nor is there any discussion of what web surfers can do to protect themselves from intrusive tags.

Have there been any hacks of the information that tags collect?

How do tags differ from cookies? And so on and so forth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.103.209.116 (talk) 15:14, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

This so-called article has been created with a possible conflict of interest and largely relies on self-sourced advertising, branche-internal PR fluff and buzzwords. Consequently the providers' and developers' point of view is uncritically parroted with little to no unbiased encyclopedic information - the article should be completely rewritten, largely based on information from independent authors and experts. Some branche-internal sources may be unavoidable, but need to be handled with a lot more caution and restraint. ==> I have now fixed some of the most problematic parts, still more independent non-promotional sources are needed. I agree and I’ve added Template:Advert to this. Text like the following is pure marketing-speak:

> …powerful tools to create rich data in the space between user, their browser and the property.

This is an interesting topic, and it would be great to see a more encyclopedic treatment of it. Nate Silva (talk) 22:28, 24 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Locking the article edit

People are coming here from the official Google docs to spam or trying something. Can someone rollback to this stable version and then lock this article? 176.88.75.125 (talk) 13:48, 20 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
