Fair use rationale for Image:Optarelogo.jpg edit

Image:Optarelogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:58, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge of Draft:Switch Mobility into Optare edit

There should be one article describing the company. Information in the two pages should be combined. Robert McClenon (talk) 05:50, 20 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Agree, Merge Swift Mobility into Optare and rename the merged article "Switch Mobility". Aoi (青い) (talk) 01:11, 21 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Agree, Merge Swift Mobility into Optare and rename the merged article "Switch Mobility". How do we proceed further with merging? Bhor.sankalp (talk) 07:40, 4 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Comment I have removed the dump of the other article at the end of this article. It needs to be merged by integrating the text from that article into the appropriate sections/places in this article. Keith D (talk) 15:53, 18 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello, now that the article is successfully merged we need to move or redirect this to the article 'Switch Mobility' please help us make this change because editors are reverting it our changes. Also, we have updated and rewritten this article multiple times to remove content that sounds promotional. Please specify which phrases/statements need to be changed. Proposed demerge of Optare & Switch Mobility edit

There should be seperate pages for both 'Optare' and 'Switch Mobility' as both are seperate entities. Bhor.sankalp (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 08:57, 25 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Query - as the nominator supported exactly the opposite course of action immediately above, has something changed? Oculi (talk) 12:47, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
We realised it makes more sense to have separate pages for Optare and Switch Mobility as both are separate companies, their products are different and so is their business. Bhor.sankalp (talk) 09:34, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • I have undone Bhor.sankalp's edits, as it functionally created three of the same article under different names. @User:Bhor.sankalp if you want to split the articles out you need to explain why and what you're trying to do. Right now it's just creating a mess. Alyo (chat·edits) 17:59, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
We did notify active editors on this page about the split. This split is because Optare and Switch Mobility are 2 separate companies with their own unique products. Also, I suggest we delete or redirect this merged page and keep separate articles. Both company pages 'Optare' and 'Switch Mobility' have their own unique content on their page. Bhor.sankalp (talk) 09:35, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Wouldn't make sense though because a press release was announced that the name "Optare" is being rebranded to "Switch Mobility". Check one of the sources in this article here:
    https://cbwmagazine.com/optare-becomes-switch-mobility-as-parent-company-ashok-leyland-unveils-global-electric-vehicle-plans/
I would not rely on information on the company's individual websites as a source as they may present inaccurate information. The Optare website only lists the Solo and the Metrocity on its products, which would mean the Metrodecker technically would've had its production ended. - NHPluto (talk) 14:35, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
In that case, we should have only 'Switch Mobility' page instead of 'Optare & Switch Mobility'. Please suggest Bhor.sankalp (talk) 07:38, 22 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) Notifying editors is not the same as getting consensus to actually do the split. In this case, no other editor agreed with your proposal. While I'm not opposed to the actual change, you need to explain how the companies are different and not simply copy the same content over in both places. Alyo (chat·edits) 14:36, 17 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Bhor.sankalp: has provided these four sources for Optare being renamed to Switch. Unless there's objection, I'll submit a move request in the day or two. This is what should have happened after the original discussion above. Bhor, please don't copy and paste or redirect pages on your own. Someone else will come along and do it in the correct way. Optare / Switch edit

I've reverted back to a 2021 version - Bhor.sankalp has made a complete and utter mess with this page so I have no idea what's been deleted as so much disruption has been made. I have no objections to editors (except Bhor.sankalp) amending the article to include the switchover to Switch however under no circumstance should Optares content be deleted. –Davey2010Talk 21:55, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I've reinstated the lead and infobox as reverting that far does our readers a disservice (I misread the rebrand year so thought everything pre-Bhur edits were there), Anyway the lead needs improving –Davey2010Talk 22:01, 20 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Readded the sections on Switch Mobility and the products, had to rewrite some of the edits when said editor put promotional content in the page. Not sure if awards for both optare and switch need to come back but for now it is mostly as it should be. -NHPluto (talk) 18:12, 26 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
