earlier arms
editDoes anyone have the earlier version of these arms? Chris 04:23, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- I have a copy of the state seal from an old family document, from my grandparents' era, but it's a really poor scan because the seal was stamped. But it does have a chinthe on top instead of a star, and a circle surrounding the map of Myanmar, with the quote from the Dhammapada. I'll upload it anyway.--Hintha (talk) 03:31, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Name
editWhy is this called the State Seal when it is infact a Coat of Arms???? Fry1989 (talk) 05:42, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
- It's because it's officially known as a "state seal" in Burma, the same way Thailand's coat of arms is an "emblem" and Cambodia's is a "royal arms".--Hintha(t) 22:07, 17 September 2010 (UTC)
1974-1988
editGolden seal is seen in photos from 1970s and 1980s.
FACTS ABOUT BURMA published by the Programme Party Headquarters in 1983 shows yellow seal as State seal. [1][2] Thus, we can say that the colour of the seal was yellow since 1974 and was not changed by SLORC. There is no valid proof for the official usage of the blue-red-white seal shown in wiki. - If we can get original publication of 1974 Constitution, there may be an illustration for the state seal. Both English version and Burmese version of 1974 constitution from Myanmar Law Information System also use the state seal file from Wikimedia Commons. Ninja✮Strikers «☎» 14:23, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
