To the best of my knowledge, the Oxford house of the SSJE, which was last at 228 Iffley Road, Oxford, has been shut down. They had moved out from the original premises in Cowley some time before. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 61.0.42.80 (talkcontribs).

Current situation

edit

The article states "The British congregation has three professed Brothers, all of whom currently live as solitaries", but it refers to a time well in the past. Is this still the situation? I now know nothing about the Cowley Fathers, but decades ago, I lived next to them in Oxford. --Bduke (talk) 08:03, 5 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Fellowship of Saint John

edit

I removed the following paragraph from the section on FSJ:

On July 3, 2014, it was announced that one of the members of the fellowship, Roy Cockrum, a former brother, had won $259 million in the Tennessee State Lottery.[1] It was his intention to use it to fund an endowment for the performing arts, where he worked for 20 years, before being initiated to the Society of St John.[2]

I don't think this is noteworthy in an article of this scope. I think it distracts from the core of who FSJ are by talking about one particular person's chance lottery winnings.Jchthys 17:17, 11 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
