Astroturfing?

edit

After the coverage on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, I was curious about possible astroturfing. Can one of the more seasoned WP editors take a look at the recent edit history? Specifically the edits by: 28trex2009, who has made precisely two edits with their account, to this article, only regarding the issue of Selenium (which was discussed on TDS). Just concerned about WP:NPOV w/r/t the wording. Elecmahm (talk) 15:55, 28 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

world-wide supplier of French fries to McDonalds?

edit

My recollection is that Simplot's use of frozen potatoes came along just in time to allow the company to bid to supply an upstart company run by Ray Kroc, McDonalds. In the early 1950s, before it became clear how big McDonalds would be, Simplot cut a contract to be the exclusive, world-wide supplier of French fries to McDonalds. Certainly that should be noted, if accurate. Corroboration? Edarrell 05:15, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is also said in the J._R._Simplot article, with a book mentioned as the source. -- 67.164.57.135 (talk) 18:08, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
WHAT?! I'm in the UK and I'm still not safe from this? I'm never going to eat a McDonalds french fry again. 82.32.11.95 (talk) 19:49, 15 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

The "Operations" section should be removed as it is factually incorrect on pretty much every level. Simplot Ulverstone is run by Simplot Australia Pty Ltd and has been operating and producing the Birds Eye brand since 1993. In 2012, a new cogeneration plant was installed. 30 minutes travel away, the Simplot Devonport factory (which produces frozen vegetables but NOT potato chips), is the one in danger of closing as the referenced news article states. 122.152.140.65 (talk) 01:43, 10 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
