Baron edit

Any word on how he became a baron? Jewish father and Welsh mother doesn't scream "old school Italian nobility." john k (talk) 15:41, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Was Sonnino the second Jewish Prime Minister of Italy? edit

Both User 109.66.154.183 and User79.181.118.18 keep insisting that Sonnino was the second Jewish Prime Minister of Italy, without providing any references and despite the fact that although his father was of Jewish heritage, his mother was Welsh and an Anglican. If one of the parents is not Jewish, the rule is that the child takes the status of the mother. Sonnino's mother was Welsh and both parents were Anglican. In other words, Sonnino is not considered to be a Jewish Prime Minister. Anglo-Saxon by birth and upbringing, he is described as the only Protestant leader in Italian politics and sources describe him as "decidedly British in manner and thought". - DonCalo (talk) 14:18, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

This source specifically mentions Luigi Luzzatti as the second Jewish Prime Minister of Italy. In other words, Sonnino is not considered to be Jewish, despite his ancestry. - DonCalo (talk) 15:26, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

This source says that Sonnino can scarcely be counted among Italy's Jewish notables. - DonCalo (talk) 16:06, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
