Why has this page been deleted it is a new a relevant slang term increacing in popularity, if this is deleted so should other slang terms; the deletion of this page goes against what wikipedia stands for.

I agree, it has come under far more widespread use. Эйрон Кинни (t) 06:38, 2 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

this word is used by everyone.

I agree with the above. Mark272 21:57, 5 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

ME WANT SHART PLEASE UNDELETE IT PLEASE

Ok folks, there seems to be a logic breakdown here. Wikipedia has pages for both "fart" and "shit," so I'm not quite seeing where the controversy is here. Shart has become a rather useful comedic vehicle in several movies, is referenced widely by persons all over the world and has generally found itself a comfortable (if not icky) niche in vernacular slang. So what's the deal? You don't wince from Anal Leakage and Olestra, why the run from Shart?

I agree with having an article on the slang term; It has entered popular culture and enough people are familiar with the term for it to be included on this page. Hojimachong 06:38, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Article on shart edit

As we have articles on fart and shit, we should having an article on shart and it's usage increasing in popularity. It was originally a neologism, but it's now widely increasing in popularity. As of now, "sharting" gets over twenty thousand google hits. Blawk me 20:40, 2 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

...with the content from the SIMPLE article about a 1960s Indian film. (See also: IMDb entry.) --Slgr@ndson (page - messages - contribs) 14:48, 3 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Created as the 1969 film edit

I have unprotected the article and replaced the content with the 1969 Indian film (thanks for the idea Slgrandson!).

If you want the slang word article to be re-introduced (considering Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sharting) you need to go to Wikipedia:Deletion review.--Commander Keane 23:40, 4 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

More Shart movie links edit

Note: Three of those links (including the NYT) are about the 2004 film, Shart: The Challenge, which is an entirely different film than the one described in this article (the 1969 version). —141.156.240.102 (talk|contribs) 03:15, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

More than one Shart edit

There have been four Bollywood films with this title ...

Shart (slang) edit

I've removed the word, for a couple of reasons: 1. not a dictionary, 2. no appropriate attribution. Everything2 is long established as an unreliable source, a google search is not a source, an unreferenced podcast is not a source, and an unsourced website is not a source. Who is the agent of the nazi thought police that keeps erasing this word? The word has currency. It's too bad that you happened to name a series of movies after a word that would later come to mean "shit fart", but whose fault is that, really? Is the the fault of the English language that a pormandu can be EASILY created from those two words? No. It's your unfortunate choice. You can't control language just because you invested in a film. I don't work like that, G. This will spin out of your control. Take it as a looming...pull any investments you have (or plan to make) from "Shart" movies, as they will be MOCKED more widely as time goes on. It only stands to reason.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 147.46.57.159 (talkcontribs) 04:11, 28 May 2007

Actually several editors have been deleting it. See the comment above, the page history, and my comment to you on your talk page. Also, it's a better idea to put new discussion at the bottom of the talk page with a new header so that people can more easily find your comments; If you use the "+" tab at the top of the talk page, it will do this for you. On the financial point you make, since the movies are in Hindi, I doubt they really care whether there's a similarity to a new bit of English slang that's in limited use. It makes no more sense to mess with this disambiguation page than it would be to add you new usage of looming in your comment above to the loom article. I hope this addresses your concerns.—

I think its ridiculous that this word is not added. I think some people just want things the way that they are because thats how THEY want them. There are so many different slang words listed on this site that i never hear spoken ever. To not have this one on there you might as well remove all slang from Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 18:00, 24 August 2007 (talkcontribs) 206.195.19.59

Wikipedia has guidelines about when it may be appropriate to have an article on a neologism; see WP:NEO for further info. --Muchness 03:31, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Slang edit

An article on the slang word exists, so I've added a link to it on the disambig page. 203.100.216.25 12:48, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
