What does "26 to life" mean, exactly? There's a potentially very large difference between 26 years, and the rest of this guy's life! (When was he born?) How much time does he have to serve? The article should clarify this. Cromulant (talk) 03:38, 27 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

"26 to life" is what is called an "indeterminate sentence." Someone convicted under the Three-Strikes law in California must serve a minimum of 85% of 26 years (meaning just over 22 years) before being eligible for parole consideration. That does NOT mean they will be released on parole. It only means that they can APPLY for parole.
