Though (maybe) technically correct, this statement is misleading. Santa Barbara was, in fact, introduced to Russian screens shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union ( the Soviet Union was dissolved in stages during December 1991, and Santa Barbara aired for the first time on January 2, 1992. ) Santa Barbara was _not_ the first American program ever to air in Russia. Duck Tales were shown for the first time on Soviet TV in January 1991. Phil Donahue Show was first broadcast in Soviet Union as early as 1987. --Itinerant1 22:33, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Wrong.

Santa Barbara was notable for having a central plot around which many of the others revolved: the murder of Channing Capwell, Jr. This killing takes place five years before the series actually begins, at which point Joe Perkins ( jailed for the murder, is paroled and returns to Santa Barbara determined to prove his innocence and renew his relationship with Kelly Capwell, sister of the victim. Over the course of the soap, almost every major character would be accused of the murder of Channing Capwell, Jr. or find their life involved in it one way or the other: from his illegitimate son to his mysterious, presumed dead mother, and his homosexual relationship.

I removed-his homosexual relationship. There were no Homosexual relationships on Santa Barbara. I know that me saying that is original research but saying his homosexual relationship does not make sense in the sentence. If you read this-Over the course of the soap, almost every major character would be accused of the murder of Channing Capwell, Jr. or find their life involved in it one way or the other: from his illegitimate son to his mysterious, presumed dead mother, and his homosexual relationship. How would his Homosexual relationship be in trouble for a murder?
