None of the sources seem to use a middle initial, so I removed it. Probably was confusion with his name often written as "Samuel Spring, D.D."? Middle names were not unheard of in the middle class, but rare I think back then. W Nowicki (talk) 03:48, 28 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
