Succession box
editWP:SBS is the project covering the use of succession boxes. It states they "serve as navigational aids in a wide variety of articles, mostly biographies", that's mostly, not exclusively. If there's a series which can be traced, such as one product replacing another, then there's a succession which can be traced through succession boxes.
Carrying forward a notion that succession boxes were developed for one reason and can't be used for another would see us unable to use HTML because we're not involved in particle physics research at CERN. Apologies to any wikipedians at CERN. Cabayi (talk) 13:55, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
Yes I can agree, I think that at least some form of succession box or other method of conveying that information should be added to each Samsung galaxy page.Markensoft (talk) 21:12, 15 November 2020 (UTC)
Bluetooth specs missing?
editNot sure why it's not in the article yet, but it looks like the device supports Bluetooth 5.0[1] StevePrutz (talk) 15:01, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
- The info isn't missing. It's located in the infobox under section Connectivity although it was written as a acronym. I'll edit the page to show the full name. CroGamer 1 (talk) 18:46, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
Opening
editIn the opening, it says, "As has been done since the Galaxy S9, Samsung unveiled flagship Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ models, differentiated primarily by screen size and an additional front-facing camera on the S10+." Didn't the + model originate on the S8. In fact, previously it said S8, but later it was changed to S9. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that this is wrong. JdRDMS 20:39, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
Requested move 4 June 2019
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Not moved Consensus against moving. For all the Galaxy phones to be moved that needs multi-RM discussion and notifications at the appropriate places. (non-admin closure) – Ammarpad (talk) 06:46, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
Samsung Galaxy S10 → Galaxy S10 – Manufacturer name not needed in page title. Due to the prominence of the Galaxy S brand for the most part, it is readily apparent that we are talking about the Samsung phone models (much like how we do not refer to all iPhone models as "Apple iPhone" on Wikipedia). This request's consensus can also apply to all other Galaxy S models (though I'm only weary of the original model). ViperSnake151 Talk 18:39, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose as not WP:CONSISTENT with all other Category:Samsung mobile phones articles. The difference between Samsung and Apple devices is that the word "Galaxy" has other meanings, where "iPhone" does not. A wider discussion needs to take place, we can't do this model-by-model. -- Netoholic @ 03:37, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- Support and move other Galaxy phones as well. feminist (talk) 11:33, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose as per Netoholic. HurricaneGeek2002 (talk) 01:39, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose I agree with the first opposer. Some users are simply inclined to type full names of the search terms, therefore I'll have to agree with the other person's opinion. That word (Samsung) means a lot of things. Guide Bwalya (talk) 08:40, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose as per Netoholic. Syntaxlord (talk) 17:34, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
