http://japan.chez-alice.fr/Culture/Japan/Sakura.htm - This translation seems to be different...

The band Thrice has a song called "Music Box"[1] that plays a melody very similar to Sakura Sakura. Should it be mentioned in the pop culture section? 204.69.3.17 (talk) 15:38, 16 April 2019 (UTC)RCCtutorReply

Modern/Classical spelling in lyrics

edit

This song is written in a form of Classical Japanese, yet it is spelled on the page using post-1945 orthography. While the song's perennial popularity probably accounts for this fact, it is somewhat anachronistic. I think the presence of readable kana and Romaji transcription is enough for there to be no problems in justifying the change. Feel free to change it back if you must, though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.251.121.189 (talk) 02:44, 11 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Uh... what?

edit

Does anyone know why the sentence "Sakura Sakura is used in the 2005 game of the year, Civilization IV." got messed up when I edited it? The only thing I changed was "Niou" to "Niō"... Moocowsrule (talk) 01:29, 13 November 2008 (UTC)moocowsruleReply

Nevermind, it must have been before my edit. Moocowsrule (talk) 01:30, 13 November 2008 (UTC)moocowsruleReply

Wrong Syllable?

edit

In both the text and the sheet music, the line “yayoi no sora wa“ has the Japanese versions ending with the character for ha rather than wa. I know little Japanese. It looks to me like an error. Sicherman (talk) 15:42, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

日本語の文法では、助詞の「は」は「ha」ではなく「wa」と発音されます。Please refer to "Ha (kana)".--Kanohara (talk) 02:41, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

How 'bout some ZUN?

edit

I think you know about the famous japaneze drunkard ZUN. He have used this "Sakura, sakura" song in one of his music, "さくらさくら ~ Japanize Dream...". Maybe one should add that in the article? --109.200.108.168 (talk) 14:52, 6 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
