'!xbile' redirects here, but the article and talk page do not mention this. A quick google shows he uses this alias. Could someone more familiar with the topic add reliable sources for this? John Vandenberg (chat) 05:28, 5 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hosting Duties

edit

The information about hosting award shows can be put in the rest of the article. The awards section should be for listing wins and nominations. It would have to be figured out where it would fit. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 04:21, 16 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sources for when Peters divorce was finalized.

edit

I'm assuming that the 2012 year was added because of an assumption that filing for divorce = divorce is legally finalized. Which isn't true at all.

I've found some sources published months after he announced his divorce in early 2012, and they don't specifically state when his divorce was finalized. They still mention that he was going through the divorce process. Yahoo! news article from June 2012: "Even though he's going through a divorce"... [1] Another June 2012 article from CityNews Vancouver: "Canadian comedy giant Russell Peters says he and Monica Diaz are on amicable terms as they go through a divorce." [2]

Maybe the divorce was finalized later in 2012, or maybe it was in 2013 or 2014. The current sources provided on his page do not seem to provide a clear timeline or exact date on when everything was finalized. Clear Looking Glass (talk) 04:52, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Clear Looking Glass: You might not always find such things. That's just something the article will be without. But if you can find it, more power to you. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 19:08, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Mr. C.C.: - That appears to be the case. I have not found any source that confirm when the divorce was actually finalized. I just wanted to start this discussion because the 2012 year which was previously added may not be true. I'm assuming the divorce happened eventually because he's since re-married (and AFAIK, polygamous marriages are not allowed in either Canada or the United States). @Clear Looking Glass: Not sure why polygamy was brought up when he is indeed divorced. Sourcing when the divorce was finalized is proving to be a challenge. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 02:50, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Mr. C.C.: - I mentioned polygamy as an off-tangent point. Sorry if it was confusing. Because we currently do not know when the divorce was finalized, it could've ended in 2012 or as recently as several months ago; its anyone's guess without reliable sources. But since he has re-married, the divorce was obviously finalized, but in an uncertain year. Clear Looking Glass (talk) 07:23, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Clear Looking Glass: Polygamy still happens. In fact, in 2020, Utah reduced it from a felony to the equivalent of a traffic ticket. Again, not everything will be able to be sourced. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 07:56, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Mr. C.C.: - I had no clue about that, please pardon my ignorance and disregard my points about polygamy. I guess we'll just leave the infobox marriage info and divorce sources as it is. Clear Looking Glass (talk) 08:01, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
