Hi Dan - I'm not sure what's required. I could start finding citations in newspaper articles, local books, etc. but these are often more unreliable than what I've written. I own the CDs, the Goanna material is already recorded in Wikipedia and my other summarisation attempts to record Rose's considerable importance to Australian music. I understand that print media may not always be quite as reliable as we'd like, but every Wikipedia article does need proper sources in order to remain. Per the WP:V policy:

| The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. "Verifiable" in this context means that any reader must be able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, because Wikipedia does not publish original thought or original research.

If you do have some of those sources you mentioned please do add them - they would be a great start, at least. If not, no worries, the tag can just remain on the article for someone else to find and perhaps work on.

I can also see the the Goanna (band) article only uses the band's/band member's own websites as sources. That article needs other sources to prove that it meets WP:MUSIC criteria for inclusion. --AbsolutDan ^(talk) 02:26, 18 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, Dan - interesting stuff and very relevant to a lot of other entries I've seen (some with really dodgy and questionable info). I guess I'm more concerned about Copyright infringement than verifiability, though I understand the policy. One of the problems is that a lot of really specialist information (particularly in Australia) hasn't seen print (I do write for print locally as well, but nothing relevant to this specific case). I understand where you're coming from. There's a great deal of information that necessarily has to be excluded here in order to comply with WP:V. Yes, there are many other articles that are lacking sources. I tag them as I find them myself. Feel free to do so as well yourself; the template is {{unreferenced}}.
