Request of Removal of Information

I do not believe this part of the article, "Ernest Ronot, a French entrepreneur, was born in 1879 in Chaumont and died in 1943. During the exodus of the Second World War, Ernest Ronot fled the German invasion of the region in 1939, and settled in his Nice villa. His factory was requisitioned by the Germans, but Ernest Ronot refused to return to Saint-Dizier, as he did not want to collaborate with the Nazis. Établissements Ernest Ronot on fr.wikipedia.org

Someone contacted me for translation help. Since the first cited source in this articles lede is a french article, there ought to be an article for this on fr.wikipedia.org, but there is not. The only mention of Ernest Ronot I could find was in the resume of a graphic designer named fr:Georges_Ripart, who apparently made some advertisements in 1910 for the Établissements Ernest Ronot. I added a red wikilink there requesting an article. I have no knowledge of this subject matter, so I'm not going to modify this draft article until the editors in France get to work.Jaredscribe (talk) 07:11, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

Société

This is closer in meaning to “company” than “society”, which doesn’t usually mean a profit-making business in English. I have not yet moved the article since I suppose I should double-check whether “Ltd” or something else is better than “Co.”, but meanwhile my interest is limited. @Elinruby: I'm not a French speaker, but reviewing the article information, it certainly seems like "company" would better indicate what the article is about. Unless 'Société' is a unique component of the name, it seems like the title should be moved. Popoki35 (talk) 04:26, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

@Popoki: I am an English speaker with essentially native fluency in French, which was my language of instruction. I often do French to English translation, and remediation of bad machine translation from French here on en.wikipedia."Société" on reflection is usually translated with the British "Ltd." I did not do the move myself because I was on an iPhone at the time, and I don't think it's an option on that platform. I had some idea that I should look at whether there were structural specifications in the laws establishing these organizational structures. but that is a really deep dive into medieval arcana in both languages and honestly I am really certain. Maybe 99%, definitely better than 95%, so if you want to I would say do the move. This is a profit-making enterprise not a charity right? I stumbled in here by accident from a non-wiki project and don't want to look. But as I recall that was the only doubt I had and it pretty clearly was the history of a business.
