Removed "Parishes" section

edit

I took the liberty of removing the "parishes" section. The list was woefully incomplete, and a complete list would be ludicrously long and counterproductive for a wikipedia page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.170.241.160 (talk) 17:33, 5 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Coat of Arms

edit

The Arms section states (without any inline references) that the Coat of Arms was adopted in 1868 but was designed in the 1930s. How can something be adopted before it's designed? Can someone please explain this apparent time-warp. Truthanado (talk) 13:19, 2 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Truthanado, @Jayarathina: might have some insight on this, being the one who added the text to the article (without benefit of a source.) I can't find anything in the diocesan website's history archives about it. Elizium23 (talk) 13:48, 2 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Elizium23, the description/symbolism of the arms were taken from the description given for the left side of the Arms of Bishop Clark at the official website. (See Ecclesiastical_heraldry#Marshalling) I wrongly assumed that the coat of arms was adopted when the diocese was erected. After Truthanado pointed out the discrepancy, I realize my mistake. It should have been adopted on or after 1930s. Unless a reliable source can be found I am removing the year adopted parameter (also added reference for description/symbolism). Wish you both a Happy New Year... --Jayarathina (talk) 17:12, 2 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
