Talk:Revolutionary Party of the Central American Workers – El Salvador

Proposal to merge article with Revolutionary Party of Central American Workers edit

The content of this article could probably be contained within the pan Central American Revolutionary Party of Central American Workers's page with subsections for each respective national branch of the party. The Revolutionary Party of Central American Workers article already refers to a Honduran PRTC article that has not yet been created. In order to bolster each of these articles in terms of content and visibility, I think it would be advisable for them to be merged. 156ableitem (talk) 15:46, 30 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Oppose. PRTC was initially a single, Central American party. It was later divided into separate parties, so PRTC, PRTC-H and PRTC-El Salvador were separate entities
Are you suggesting that the divisions should all be detailed in separate articles? If you are, wouldn't it be reasonable to have a unified PRTC article that cover's the party's history and eventual divisions? At this point, the information for each individual division might not be worthy of anything more than a stub, which may be fine, but I think it would make the information less accessible than it would if it were confined to a single page, at least until enough information is gathered to write about all groups in detail. Is there a Wikipedia policy I should be reviewing on how to approach this? 156ableitem (talk) 21:48, 12 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
PRTC and PRTC-El Salvador were two different parties, thus two different articles. --Soman (talk) 21:44, 13 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
