9/11 scapegoating in the cruise industry

edit

I don't believe that credence should be given to the claims that 9/11 killed off Renaissance, American Hawaii, etc. considering that within weeks of the attacks, BK was filed. It's mismanagement, plain and simple. There was not enough time for 9/11 to materially impact these lines in these cases. Many cruise lines survived. Most did.71.84.48.64 (talk) 01:38, 5 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

I was living in Tahiti during the time both Renaissance ships were docked for months at Papeete before the company officially went under. The news then reported that Renaissance ceased operations because the ships were linked with Bin Laden's assets, which had been frozen. The local papers didn't do much online then though, and I can't find any articles to substantiate it now. Raroata (talk) 15:52, 16 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
