Criticism edit

Montagne has been criticised for crossing the line from journalist/anchor to political activism on Morning Edition. She has been accused of treating many conservative guests rudely and letting his own biases creep into her reporting. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.240.0.44 (talk) 18:26, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Added Her to Wikipedia Article on Military brats to (sub-page) "Famous military brats" edit

"Military brat" is not an insulting term, by the way, it means "child of a career military family" and references the unique lifestyle of (and including challenges facing) military families and military children and teenagers.

Shortened title (in this discussion section) ^^, previously too long.

Added Details on Military Childhood, Plus new Wikilink edit

Just added a new Wikilink (via "career Marine family" phrase in the article opening) to the main descriptive article on Military brat (U.S. subculture)

That's relevant because that part describes the unique lifestyle and subculture of "military brats" (children of career military families).

(That article has been recently been revamped, and expanded, as well).

Also added mention in the article opening) of her moving a lot while growing up, as is common for non-reservist American military kids (esp. kids of career military families).

Wealth of Overseas Correspondent Experience Missing from Article edit

As a listener, I have heard Montagne report from a number of overseas locations, often doing fascinating series in a country she travels in, for example most recently, in Afghanistan. She seems to have a second career as a periodic overseas correspondent and does very in-depth coverage. I think some of the highlights of that should be in the article. 67.190.27.217 (talk) 22:06, 29 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Fathers Wartime Service edit

Did he serve in Vietnam? If Montagne was growing up during that time (father was in a war while she was growing up) then that is significant and should also be mentioned in the article. 67.190.27.217 (talk) 22:06, 29 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Other Work edit

She has done a lot of domestic pieces too, creating a table with highlights of this is common for such articles and also would be a good addition.

That would also make it a "complete" article by Wikipedia standards, rather than the 'stub' that it is now.

    • Sorry that I don't have more time for this, but hopefully these notes (above) will spur others to "fill out" the article over time.
