Is Reginald Van Gleason III a parody of this Vanderbilt?edit

Jackie Gleason must surely have modeled his top-hatted partier Reginald Van Gleason III after Reggie Vanderbilt. Not only does Gleason's character LOOK like the moustachioed Vanderbilt and sport the kind of formal attire one might imagine worn by an extravagantly wealthy man out on the town, but Vanderbilt's fondness for booze seems tailor made for Gleason's parody. 2601:243:4:E90A:19E3:6C:B87A:6C41 (talk) 06:01, 28 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

L/f a citation around gambling away most of his fortunes. Odd to include a statement of that magnitude without a citation. 74.12.13.97 (talk) 18:02, 22 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
